PCI Security Standards Council
The providers of international payment systems such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB International have joined forces in the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI = Payment Card Industry) in order to guarantee the security of payments with their payment cards using common standards. The committee maintains, develops and promotes the security standards of the payment card industry. The Council also provides tools for implementing the standards. These include, for example, assessment and scan qualifications, self-assessment questionnaires, training courses and product certification programs.
Merchants who accept payments with such cards and service providers who support them must comply with PCI regulations. The regulations cover best practices in IT security. They cover the production, personalisation and distribution of the cards as well as their acceptance and billing.
SRC is recognized by the PCI Security Standards Council as a Qualified Security Assessor and Approved Scanning Vendor in all thematic areas.
