Nepting SAS was founded in September 2012 by Martine Aubry, Jean-Paul Dalmas, Jean-François Cotte and Frédéric Renault in Montpellier, France. Their shared vision was that payment acceptance should be based on secure technology while being agile and open.
Since then, Nepting has established itself as an innovative payment service provider that integrates a variety of payment methods – from national cards and international payment brands to the German girocard – and always remains open to new developments.
It was clear from the start that there would be challenges:

This raises the question: How many tests need to be carried out? Which standards are essential? And how can all this be achieved without months of delays?
The start of the collaboration
Nepting began working with SRC in 2014. The first joint task: PCI DSS certifications and software security consulting. This was the starting point for a long-term partnership that has continued to develop step by step to this day.
The shared journey in milestones
- 2014/15: First PCI DSS certification and consulting on software security
- 2020 to 2023: Establishment of a PCI P2PE solution – secure end-to-end encryption and reduction of risks and audit effort for connected merchants
- 2023: PCI PIN – Proof of special PIN protection
- Since 2023: Work on girocard approval with regard to security assessments and Nexo certification – facilitating the acceptance of German payment cards
- Since 2023: Working on a PCI MPoC solution – Mobile Payment on commercial off-the-shelf devices (COTS) – the next step towards easier payment acceptance with cell phones and tablets
- Since 2024: Work on PCI 3DS – confirmation of strong customer authentication in e-commerce
This journey will continue as safety is continuously reviewed.
Each of these steps not only involved technical certification, but also gave Nepting access to new markets, partners and dealer groups – always with the certainty that their solutions meet the highest security standards.
