The introduction of new account-based payment methods in conjunction with the European Commission’s current regulatory initiatives on the use of instant payments, the establishment of open banking and identity services (eIDAS 2.0) will lead to a further increase in the variety of electronic payment methods. Standardized APIs will become a central instrument for the technical integration of banking services into other applications and regulated identity services will in future contribute to customers possibly also using authentication instruments that can be used across applications. This poses new challenges for the banking industry – from the harmonization and standardization of APIs to the integration of these new technologies into their own services and infrastructures.
The focus of the advertised position in Consulting – API/Banking is on advising and supporting leading associations of the German banking industry and financial services companies in the development of technical standards and their use for open banking applications and identity services. Key aspects here are the optimization, digitalization and security of business processes. Increasingly, the focus is also on European projects.
