Headquartered in Bonn, SRC Security Research & Consulting GmbH is a management consultancy specializing in information security for the German banking industry, which supports its clients in the implementation and development of secure systems. This includes the secure storage of data as well as the trustworthy processing of electronic transactions in the banking sector, insurance companies, retail, industry and the public sector.

Your tasks

As an IT security expert (m/f/d), you will join the SRC team to carry out penetration or compliance tests on products that are to undergo an evaluation in our test laboratory (e.g. in the Accelerated Security Certification BSZ scheme). In doing so, you imitate techniques and procedures from a real attack scenario with the aim of circumventing the security functions of the products or disclosing/manipulating sensitive information. For example, such tests are to be carried out on IT products that have network interfaces that could be the target of attacks. To prepare for the penetration and compliance tests, find out about the technologies used and their potential vulnerabilities on the basis of the product information and publications.

Your profile

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (university or university of applied sciences) in mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering or physics
Within the last five years, you have at least two years of practical professional experience in the field of hardware and/or software testing
Experience in the preparation and implementation of IT security tests
Knowledge of at least one of the programming languages Python, C/C++, Java, Kotlin, Rust
Ability to use network tools and vulnerability scanners
Basic knowledge of cryptography
Knowledge of standard attack methods/attack vectors
Knowledge and skills to create and implement tests and test cases for testing
of interfaces and security functions
Basic knowledge of estimating and evaluating weak points
Very good knowledge of German and English
Personal certifications such as OSCP or GPEN are a bonus, but not a requirement. We generally offer the opportunity to acquire these during the course of your work.
