secure card payments. worldwide.
The providers of international payment systems Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB International have joined forces in the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI = Payment Card Industry) to ensure the security of payments with their payment cards by means of common standards. The body maintains, develops and promotes the security standards of the payment card industry. The Council also provides tools for the implementation of the standards. These include, for example, assessment and scanning qualifications, self-assessment questionnaires, training and product certification programmes.
Merchants who accept payments with such cards and service providers who support them in doing so must comply with the PCI regulations. The regulations cover IT security best practices. They cover the production, personalisation and distribution of the cards, as well as their acceptance and settlement.
SRC is approved by the PCI Security Standards Council as a Qualified Security Assessor, as a recognised laboratory and as an Approved Scanning Vendor for all subject areas.
