NESAS CCS-GI

NESAS CCS-GI

SRC is a NESAS test center for 5G and 6G components

SRC has been recognized by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as a NESAS test center and will soon be officially listed in the BSI list. This enables us to support manufacturers of critical technical components as part of the Network Equipment Security Assurance Scheme Cybersecurity Certification Scheme – German Implementation (NESAS CCS-GI) and to test their products to the highest security standards.

What is NESAS CCS-GI?

Based on the framework “Network Equipment Security Assurance Scheme” (NESAS) developed by the Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA) and the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI ) developed the standardized test scheme NESAS CCS-GI.

This test scheme is used to certify components in 5G and 6G mobile networks. Certification of components in accordance with NESAS CCS-GI gives manufacturers the opportunity to demonstrate compliance with (legally) required security features by means of an IT security certificate.

Why is NESAS important?

According to the Telecommunications Act, critical components of mobile networks that have been classified as security-relevant by the Federal Network Agency (see “List of critical functions”) must undergo certification. Depending on the product, one of the certification schemes CC (Common Criteria), BSZ (Accelerated Security Certification) or NESAS CCS-GI is used. NESAS certification is therefore a necessary step to ensure that the operation of components is legally compliant and secure.
