What is AppPOS?
AppPOS is the mobile POS solution for the girocard system and the counterpart to PCI MPoC, which was developed for credit card payments. An app on a standard smartphone replaces the classic payment terminal and enables the secure acceptance of contactless girocard payments – even for amounts above the CVM limit.
While traditional payment terminals use hardware security measures to protect transactions, with AppPOS the app’s software handles all security-critical functions.
