eIDAS Regulation and its significance

With the introduction of the eIDAS Regulation, the European Union has set new standards for the security and trustworthiness of digital transactions. This ordinance regulates the requirements for qualified electronic signatures and seals, which are the digital replacement for handwritten signatures and prove the authenticity of data for companies and organizations to third parties.

Conformity assessment: Your path to qualification

SRC offers comprehensive conformity assessment support for trust service providers. Our two-stage process includes a review of your documentation and an on-site audit to verify the correct implementation of your security mechanisms. This procedure is based on the security requirements of the eIDAS Regulation and relevant standards.

Qualified status conferral by supervisory authorities

After successful conformity assessment by SRC, the status “qualified” is awarded by the relevant supervisory authority. In Germany, these are the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and the Federal Network Agency.
